A different Iceland
You want to experience another season in Iceland? Welcome to
Skagafjörður!
Our horses wait for you! Be prepared for all kinds of weather and let´s be
surprised whether we ride smooth tölt "on ice" or in green fields.
Besides we visit horsebreeders, do some sightseeing and visit interesting
museums. If weather conditions allow you get the opportunity to try some winter
activities as for excample snowmobile driving and skiing. In the evenings we enjoy a
typical Icelandic hot tub and might even get a chance to adore some fascinating northern lights!

Itinerary |
| Day 1 |
| Your flight should arrive at Keflavík airport around 15:00 h, latest 15:30 h(3:30 PM)
From here you will be taken directly to the domestic airport in Reykjavík right in time for the
domestic flight to Sauđárkrókur in North Iceland.
We will welcome you at the airport and drive to our Hestasport Cottages where you spend the next nights.
After a welcome dinner we recommend a relaxing bath in the big natural hot tub, before
you go to sleep after this long day of travelling.
In case you arrive earlier in Iceland, please keep us informed where we can meet you.

| Day 2 |
After a good and late breakfast we prepare to meet our horses.
We are excited to ride this unique breed in
its native surroundings. You will get a good introduction to the Icelandic Horse and how to ride
the specific gait tölt.
In the afternoon we choose one of the many activities Skagafjörđur has to offer.

| Day 3, 4 and 5 |
In these days we are very flexibel with our day activities, as
unpredictable weatherconditions tought the Icelanders through centuries.
Apart from riding we might visit the folkmuseum in Glaumbær, the emigration center in
Hofsós or the old bishops center Hólar. Today Hólar is
university of agriculture and a researching- and education center of the
Icelandic Horse.
We take the opportunity to try some of the outdoor activities available in
this area depending on the interests of our guests and the weather. A visit to breeding
farms can also be arranged, introducing the daily life of
horsebreeders, -farmers and -trainers. |
| Day 6 |
| After this days program and a hearty dinner you leave Skagafjörður.
We say good bye at Sauđárkrókur airport from where you fly back to Reykjavík.
Overnight stay in the hotel. |
| Day 7 |
Today you are master of your time. If you feel like seeing more of
Iceland, as there is the Blue Lagoon or the nature pearls Gullfoss and Geysir,
you can enjoy a day excursion out of Reykjavík or if you want
to be independent, take a rental car and make your own tour.
In the evening it would be nice to enjoy a farewell dinner in a good Icelandic
fish restaurant and later on have a look at the nightlife in
Reykjavík. |
| Day 8 |
| Transfer from the hotel to Keflavík airport right in time for your flight home. |

- 2 nights in a hotel in Reykjavík (dbl-/twinroom with private facilities,
breakfast incl.)
- 5 nights in a Hestasport-Cottage / 2 persons per house in made up beds, private facilities
- Fullboard on the ridingtour from dinner on day 1 until breakfast on day 7 (in Reykjavík only
breakfast incl.!)
