Meals & Accomodation
Our staff will prepare all meals and you get the chance to taste traditional
Icelandic specialities such as fresh and smoked lamb, trout, salmon, and a
variety of cheese and other dairy products. While the riding tour our guests
make their own lunch pack from the large breakfast table.Depending on the tour
you choose, you may stay in farmhouses, hotels, guest-houses, schools, mountain
cabins or tents. Sleepingbag accommodation includes mattresses only and
accommodation is shared, sometimes with the whole group.
Riding ability
On the longer tours we ride 5-10 hours per day over flatlands, hills, rocks and
rivers. We therefore recommend that participants have solid riding experience,
good condition and are in good health.
Please note
Your riding clothes and boots must be disinfected before you arrive. It is
prohibited by Icelandic law to bring used riding equipment including saddles,
bridles, etc., into the country, as well as used leather riding boots or other
leather riding wear. Riding clothes should be dry-cleaned. (chemically cleaned),
and rubber riding boots should be disinfected with chlorine.

Insurances
We recommend strongly to have your own personal insurance when joining a riding
tour in Iceland.
What to bring
Temperatures in the summer can range from freezing to 20° C, so be prepared for
all kinds of weather, and pack warm clothes such as a wind-proof jacket, woollen
or fleece sweaters, gloves, thick woollen socks, headbands/ear muffs, scarf,
long under-wear and your ridingtrousers of course. We recommend for the riding
rubber boots or/and hiking shoes. For the cabins are slippers advisable. Also
prepare for the best weather and bring along lighter clothes and sun block, and
don't forget your swimsuit (hot pools). If you need you should bring a small
pillow and personal medicine. Our staff is not allowed to give out any medicine
except in case of emergency.
Bookings
You can book through your travelagency or directly at Hestasport. Bookings can
be made by letter, e-mail or fax. 25% of the tour price is payable two weeks
after reservation. Full payment should be made four weeks before arrival in
Iceland. Family-, group- or children discount can be made by special
arrangement.

We reserve the right to alter any itinerary in the passengers best interest
and for reasons of safety. This will not reduce the quality of our tours! It is
advisable to have your own personal insurance when joining a riding tour in
Iceland.
